These Santa Fe Wings combine crispy oven-baked chicken wings with a bold Southwestern sauce made from hot pepper sauce, chili sauce, butter, and chili powder. The result is a flavorful wing with a perfect balance of heat, tang, and smoky spice that makes an excellent appetizer or game-day favorite.

Ingredients

2½ pounds chicken wings, separated

½ cup hot pepper sauce

¼ cup butter

¼ cup chili sauce

1 teaspoon chili powder


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C).
  2. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer in a large ungreased baking dish.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes.
  4. Turn the wings over.
  5. Continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until crispy, golden brown, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. While the wings bake, prepare the sauce.
  7. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the hot pepper sauce, butter, chili sauce, and chili powder.
  8. Microwave on high power for approximately 1 minute, or until the butter is melted.
  9. Stir until the sauce is smooth and well blended.
  10. Add the hot wings to the bowl.
  11. Toss until evenly coated.
  12. Transfer to a serving platter and serve immediately.
