Ingredients

For the Blue Cheese Dip

½ cup sour cream

½ cup mayonnaise

2 teaspoons white wine vinegar

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon green onions, chopped

½ teaspoon garlic, minced

½ teaspoon hot pepper sauce

2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

For the Chicken Wings

12 chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes, tips removed

Vegetable oil, for frying

4 tablespoons butter, melted

1 teaspoon ketchup

1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Celery sticks, for serving


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blue Cheese Dip.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, vinegar, parsley, green onions, garlic, hot pepper sauce, and blue cheese.
  3. Mix until well blended.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  6. Separate the chicken wings into flats and drumettes and remove the tips.
  7. Pat the wings dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  8. Heat approximately 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (177°C).
  9. Fry the wings in batches for about 6 minutes, or until golden brown, crispy, and cooked through to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  10. Remove the wings and drain on paper towels.
  11. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, ketchup, and hot pepper sauce.
  12. Place the cooked wings in a large bowl.
  13. Pour the sauce mixture over the wings.
  14. Toss until evenly coated.
  15. Transfer to a serving platter.
  16. Serve immediately with celery sticks and the chilled blue cheese dip.
