DESCRIPTION

Classic Quiche Lorraine is a timeless French favorite featuring a flaky buttery crust filled with silky egg custard, smoky bacon, rich Gruyère cheese, and cream. Baked until lightly golden, it makes an elegant brunch centerpiece yet is equally satisfying for lunch or dinner.

This classic quiche can be served warm, at room temperature, or chilled, making it perfect for entertaining or meal preparation.

INGREDIENTS

1 prepared 9-inch pie crust

6 large eggs

1½ cups heavy cream

1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

½ tsp kosher salt

¼ tsp black pepper

¼ tsp ground nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust into the pie plate and flute the edges if desired.
  3. Sprinkle the bacon evenly over the bottom of the crust.
  4. Top with the shredded Gruyère cheese.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until fully combined.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese.
  7. Place the pie plate on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the center is just set and lightly golden.
  9. Allow the quiche to cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
